4 years ago, I became a dad and I decided to find a way to provide a piggy bag for my daughter. You know in order to prepare for College and to give her a good start in her life, I decided to put 200$ USD per month in a saving account. The 200$ USD per month come from discussions about how much you should put aside as soon as a kid is born in order to prepare scholarship cost.

I heard about bitcoin 6, 7 years ago, but I didn’t get the time and the motivation to look into it in order to really understand it.

And the interest changed. I was able to see a way

  • To put aside money for the scholarship for my daughter
  • To prepare to financial freedom
  • To continue to learn on multiple topics like finance, tax, python and smart contract code writing

The purpose of this article and the future ones are to explain my journey to financial freedom via crypto and few others ways.

How did I start?

Google was and is still my best friend to find information and allow me to do my own research

First I started to look at https://www.coinbase.com/learn. It gaves me few basic concepts and my first crypto tokens (Tezos, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple or EOS). When I did the learning sessions, it was a gift of around 25$ USD. Now it’s worth 100$ USD. Free money, I would say.

If you want to give a try with Coinbase, you can use my referral link (If you sell or buy for 100$ USD or more, you and me will receive 10$ USD in Bitcoin)

I’m going as well to https://www.gemini.com/cryptopedia to find a lot of educational content.

If you want to give a try with Gemini, you can use my referral link (If you sell or buy for 100$ USD or more, you and me will receive 10$ USD in Bitcoin)

To be noted that depending your juridiction (country, state), the referral links could not work.

And now?

I was looking how to protect my assets by having them out of the exchange. I will explain in a future article why.

As during 2020, I moved from UK to US, in order to avoid the fear to lose my coins, I decided to buy a hardware wallet, The Nano X from Ledger (https://shop.ledger.com/pages/ledger-nano-x).

I wanted to find a way to reach my goal and then I decided to look how I can put my money at work.

There is many ways to do it between CeFi, DeFi, TradeFi.

To start, the simplest way is to use CeFi. You send your coins and the platform will give you some coins back as interest.

I started to use BlockFi because it was one of the top at the time being. I was able to receive juicy rewards in BTC and ETH.

If you want to give a try with BlockFi, you can use my referral link (If you fund for 100$ USD or more, you and me will receive 10$ USD in Bitcoin. You must hold these funds for 30 days before being eligible for the bonus payment.)

And I found one my favorite CeFi platform CelsiusNetwork.

There is nice community. I like the way they are transparent on their roadmap and how focus they are with their community.

Join Celsius Network using my referral code 16798419f8 when signing up and earn $50 in BTC with your first transfer of $400 or more!

What are my objectives for 2022

To the road of financial independence, my objectives are simple :

  • at least 200$ USD per month as passive income from staking or interest on the crypto. The scholarship will be then funded by it.
  • Close my loans where I pay more than 10% of interest.
  • Properly diversify and learn how to manage it properly.

The next article will be about my strategy in order to get in.
